I’ve apparently been initiated into the next great digital annoyance after spam and adware….cell phone spam! I got a text notification on my Sprint PCS cell, which I rarely get. It was an ad for Vi@gra (sic)!!
I’d heard a little about this. I hope I don’t start getting inundated with them! Now all we need is a catchy name for these (unless one’s already been created, but I haven’t caught that particular meme through the blogosphere yet if it has).
Let’s see, it’s mobile spam. SMS spam. Cell phone spam.
Mo-spam?
SMSpam?
Or should it be named after another gross food product like spam was? Cheeze Whiz?

And worse … YOU get charged for it if you don’t have it as part of your plan! Argh.
May 17, 2004 @ 11:22 amI know…if I’m paying extra for it, they should comp me if it’s a spam message I don’t want! Turns out a lot of people on Sprint got that message that day, I think someone hacked into them and broadcast some spam.
