A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

UGH. Trying really hard lately to do my best at work. I slacked off there for a while. Didn’t, as they say, “put in a 110%” (gag). But I’ve got to have concessions if they’re not going to give us casual Fridays, not going to give me my raise. So, I’ve decided I’m going to work from home a little from time to time and take advantage of that benefit. But, is anyone ever going to stinking let me? NO! We have meetings all over the place, and it’s always ‘essential’ that you’re there. I swear we have twenty people at a meeting where two would do.

I had myself all set on working from home Friday, but now my co-technical lead (apparently I’m not capable of being a technical lead on my own yet) needs me in the meeting tomorrow. I feel like I’m always translating everything between the business team and technical team, that I understand the business needs and the technical needs as well as if not better than anyone. Yet, I’m not even on the project full time.

Oh, and I am getting SO tired of my new PM talking in project-manager-ese constantly. That’s all he can speak, even in informal conversations in the hallway.

Oh well. I’m headin’ home.
