A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

Yes, I’m still alive. Apparently if I don’t blog anything for a few days everyone gets a little antsy! ;-)
With much help from my beloved husband and sys admin, I’ve upgraded to Movable Type 3.0. For now, comments will remain as normal. If I get comment-spammed again, I have two choices. I’d be interested to hear from you which you’d prefer if you’re a regular commenter. I can either require everyone to signup at TypeKey for a free account which allows you to login and post comments at lots of blogs, which, another sign-in, I know, is yucky. Or, I can moderate every freakin’ comment. I don’t like that either as it slows down the torrential (sarcasm here) downpour of conversations we carry on here via comments. If it gets bad, I’ll probably go with the latter (though I still get the spam comments, I just don’t see them on the site. Guess I could just ignore them in my “pending comments” folder).

Also, playing around with “Trackbacks”. Basically, it works this way: If blog A and blog B both have Trackbacks turned on to allow Trackbacks and to send a ping Trackback for any links, then any time blog A blogs about blog B and posts a link to blog B, blog B will now about it and can contain a list of sites that link to it. In other words, another way for people to go to a page on their blog and go “no one’s blogged about my exciting entry on doing laundry? No one loves me!”.

Hmmm… have you ever made a post about your laundry to find out if we really do love you? I think not!

No, but I have about much more exciting topics like being tired of work, taking care of my nephews, etc. This is riveting stuff!
