I’m tired though! We drove to Vidor for Amy’s baby shower (Ian’s sister). She got a ton of stuff, so they should be set for the baby!
We drove down late Friday night and came back late Saturday night. Then, Ian had to fly out to Chicago this morning for three days of training, so I dropped him off early and went in to work. I got in at 6:15 AM this morning!! Good thing is, I get to leave very early. I’ll probably just go home and pass out.
Not much else new. We did finally cut down the elm in front that had snapped earlier in the summer from high winds and lots of rain. We’ll replace it this fall with something, preferably a fast grower. The other elm has actually grown a lot this year and is finally starting to look more like a tree than a toothpick.
Make sure this removal of a tree doesn’t put you in non-compliance with your HOA rules. In our neighborhood, our gestapo-style HOA requires two trees in your front yard at all times!

That’s kind of silly, you should have a waiting period. I like the two tree rule, but the only time you can plant in Texas is spring and fall. No complaints yet!
