A friend sent me the link to this blog. Not sure if it’s a real person or just a propaganda front for the religious right, but either way it is a despicable, frustrating, sad portrayal of a gay person who has been fed lies by far right and thinks he can stop being gay.
I’m hesitant to comment on the site, as, like I said I think it may be a front for conservatives and the comment would have no affect. One of the bloggers he links to on his site also states that a stranger trying to help this person may have no affect, a friend or family member is needed to help them understand that they are naturally gay and it is ok.
Gay rights are horrendously behind the times in what is increasingly becoming a Christian-fundamentalist, second world superpower (known as the U.S.) the U.S. (sorry, got a little negative there). But even so, it surprises me to see things such as this. I thought we’d moved past this ignorant stage in gay rights as a society for the most part, but I see we have so much longer to go.
