Well, sitting here surfing and blogging while Microsoft hacks my computer, err, installs the notorious Service Pack 2 for XP. I’ve heard bad things about it after it’s installed, it shuts down ports and such. Some new Security Center or something that’s another patchwork attempt to make Windows secure instead of starting clean and making it secure from the ground up. I’ll give them that they’ve made XP reliable overall, but they still have major work to do on security for XP and IE.

Went to the Velvet Hookah last night for martinis and hookahs (if you don’t know what they are, think the caterpillar in Alice in Wonderland). Very smooth, flavorful smoke, but it’s still tobacco smoke. Fun place, I’d enjoy coming back, but I’ll only smoke the hookah very occasionally.

Today rock climbed with Vic. Although we were both a little tired, we did well. I’m slowly improving my technique. After a good lunch discussing writing, I headed home to mow the lawn. Alas, the Benadryl I’d taken earlier for a swollen eyelid (I have no idea what that’s from) kicked in and I slept for about 2-2.5 hours!
