I’m now a proud user of Mozilla Firefox THE competitor that will bring Micro$oft down (we hope!). It’s really a great, standards compliant browser. And leaner than IE!! My god..the download was only 4 MB and took under a minute to install. Who knows how bloated (and buggy) IE is these days. I was also getting tired of the constant security releases about yet another way a hacker can ruin your PC thanks to IE’s crappy engineering,and Microsoft’s pathetic band-aid attempts to fix it.
Of course, I do have to go back occasionally when I have to use some sites, like eRoom (the most god awful collaboration tool ever invented), at work and they give me this message in Mozilla because they’ve hard coded themselves to work with IE and can’t manage in standards compliant browsers:
Unfortunately, eRoom cannot run in this browser.
This version of eRoom requires one of the following browsers:
* Internet Explorer 5, 5.1, 5.5, or 6.0
* or Netscape Navigator or Communicator 4.08 or 4.7.
