A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

I’ve heard recently people have received e-mail spam that has random strings of words (to bypass filters). Sometimes the words even come together randomly to create an unusual or almost beautifully eclectic phrase. Like poetry bubbling up from the ether of the internet’s subconsciousness.
Well, now the blog spammers are trying something along the same lines: […]

Kinda sad (but true) sendup of the current state of the West End by the Observer …
Living End
I remember the West End being so much fun when I was young. I think I convinced Ian to go once or twice, and it was just…lame, very bland. The clubs used to be more lively, the mall […]

Had a good weekend. Friday was dinner and drinks at Samui’s followed by the Cutting Edge Haunted House in Fort Worth (only Chris and I were brave enough to face the terror!). Actually, the house was fairly disappointing except for the ‘mist room’ and wall of bubbles at the end.
Saturday was yard work. I have […]

Well, after rock climbing yesterday (and a good dinner with Vic over at Baja), Ian called to say he and Brian were seeing Primer, which Vic had happened to mention (I wasn’t sure if you’d seen it yet or not, Vic, if you want to see it I definitely need to see it again!). I […]

My PC is back up and running. Yeah! I’ve now got Ian’s old HD running and I’m going to chunk my old POS hard disk soon (waiting a few days just in case I forgot something off of it). Now I just face the joy of getting all my old programs re-installed.

Reality:
Hard drive craters on my […]

Christopher Reeve dies
I was saddened to see this headline this morning. Not only did I grow up with the Superman movies and Christoper Reeve, taking off into the sky, fueled my childhood imagination and inspired me, but he had also inspired me greatly in the last few years. Struggling against his crippling injury, he gained […]

I suppose that’s what it is. Work’s been busy, but enjoyable as I’m learning some new technologies. I’ve been passing up on going to lunch with other people this week and not being as sociable as I normally am, as well as not calling friends much either. Not that I’m in a bad or down […]

Ian and I are uncles! (Again) Carson Daniel Gilley was born this afternoon around 2:20 PM to Amy and Dan, Ian’s sister and brother-in-law. We’ll be going down to see him Friday afternoon/evening.

Great article over on LOCUS online. Not sure if I posted about this yet. They rounded up six authors and had John Shirley interview them with questions about the social future of human society. Some very good answers in there. This is right up my ballpark with contemplating where human existence is heading. It’s all […]
