A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

In a Dilbert-ian maneuver today, our management RIFed (reduction in force — laid off) two people on our team, while hiring four more. Also, one of the positions emptied out will need to be filled, the application support project manager. Thus, we’ve ‘reduced’ our team by going up a net three people. Don’t ask…I have no clue.

The App Support PM keeps watch over a very busy, highly visible development group for AA.com. It’s basically their job to keep it up and running 24/7. Well, it took all of about five hours after canning the PM to have a MAJOR problem come up. Hmm…maybe it’s not such a smart idea to can the person who fills a vital role like that without having someone else ready to fill in? ;-)
