Played around with the new Canon last night some. It’s so cool! I’m impressed with the feature set, and how easy to use the interface is. The way you view pictures on the camera is cool too, you just zoom in/out on a virtual photo album, you can even zoom inside a pic.

The neatest thing the camera has is some sort of motion/balance sensor (a gyroscope?). You can shake it when the date is displayed to change the color (novelty feature but nifty). More importantly, if it goes to standby, just pick it up/move it around and it wakes up. If you turn it 90 degrees to take a vertical pic, it auto-rotates the pic the right way so you don’t have to. If you’re taking a pic and the camera is shaking too much for auto-focus to work, the camera blinks at you to tell you it’ll be a fuzzy shot!

Did all this while watching the season premiere of season 2 Carnivale on HBO. Love it!!! It’s religious mysticism/magic set against the stark world of America in the depression.
