Had a fantastic weekend, guess I’m ready for another week of work. We didn’t do much Friday night, but on Saturday I was busy: rock climbing, train show with my dad and Ian, and then dinner and a wine tasting with piano music with my mom. Whew! The wine/piano event didn’t turn out to be what my mom was expecting (or I), so we left halfway through, but we had a great dinner beforehand at Blue Mesa with fantastic margaritas (it pays to go for the good tequila) and the wine afterwards didn’t hurt either.
Then, today, I finally got to work on my train table. It’s sort of been step 1 in a series of things I want to do on the train set (including put out all the incredible stuff I got for Christmas!). Ian was so great, he did 99% of the labor, and let me decide how it all went, not even criticizing the mistakes I made. Which were a few. I’m not good with my hands building things, but I appreciated his vote of confidence in letting me build this the way I wanted. It’s not perfect, but it will look good and serve the purpose well. I’m very excited about it (thank you Ian for all the help!). As soon as it is finished I’ll post some pics.
No criticism? Bah, where’s the fun in that?
Try that again 20 years from now and see how it goes!
J/K, you boys are so sweet to each other!
