A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

I love this:

Postal experiment

They mailed stuff from the weird to the gross, wrapped and unwrapped to see how the USPS would handle. I’m impressed with how much they did deliver. And of course, my favorite underdog government arm has always been the USPS. It’s the only government division that is profitable! Those people work hard day in and out, rain or shine to deliver mail. It’s not always the fastest, but it generally gets there.

That’s funny! One of my former coworkers did an experiment like this a couple years ago–he mailed a banana (unwrapped, with correct postage) and a giant gumball (also unwrapped, with correct postage). They both got there, although his girlfriend was surprised to get a banana in the mail!
When Zach & I first started dating, he decided to send me a “Tenessee postcard” made out of a cardboard box. They treated it like a regular postcard. :)

Too funny. You’d better send a fairly unripe banana or it could get messy! ;-) I like the postcards in Key West: they’re painted coconuts! You just bought it, wrote a note and address on there, and they even mailed it for you. The price included postage. I remember it was quite a bit (I want to say it was $20 or something for the coconut and postage, maybe less).
