A good weekend. One of those where you do lots of things and feel like you accomplished something, but still restful. Had a great dinner with Lloyd, Walter, and their precious little girl Madison Friday night. We followed up dinner at Taco Diner walking around the plaza at Legacy & the Tollway there. I enjoy pedestrian areas centered around retail/dining, etc. Music pouring out of places, people watching, it’s the urban/suburban setting.
Saturday we had brunch with Brian M. and some shopping! We’ve needed new plates forever and finally got a set of 12 so we’ll always have some in the cupboard. They’re a mix of purples and reds and are those hand-painted ceramic style that’s been popular for a while. (Got them CHEAP at Kohl’s woohoo!). That evening we visited Lloyd & Walter’s wonderful house (it is SO nice to know someone who’s house you can just walk to!) and had Chinese and watched Two Brothers.
Sunday was lotsa yard work prepping for spring, and as you may have noticed by my last post, I finished my train table! The creative juices are flowing so I am pumped to put some time and effort into my many ongoing projectettes: working on the train set, writing a GURPS adventure/campaign setting, writing some more stories, playtesting my game….hmmm, is that all?
Ian and I filed our taxes this weekend and we get a good size refund (you get SO much back for paying a mortgage vs. rent!), so we’re thinking about getting someone to paint the tall, tall walls in the living areas we haven’t painted yet a common color. I think it will make those rooms look SO much better. It’s funny, you hang stuff on a white wall, and it just looks like you’re desperately trying to make a wall look filled up. Paint it a shade of bash or brown, boom, it looks complete! Hopefully we’ll have something extra to ‘finish out’ our game room.
Hope everybody had a good weekend and has a fantastic Valentine’s day! ![]()
I’m SO sorry I couldn’t make brunch…I had really been looking forward to it. I was just really quite ill, and you know me, I’m never sick.
It’s great y’all are getting to know Lloyd, Walter & Madison - they are really good people and a beautiful family.
