Could NOT get up this morning. Finally dragged out of bed at 8 an hour after my first alarm had gone off. I finally did what Ian’s done several times…opened the back door to let the dogs out and set off the alarm. Doh!
The phone was out again, and we were expecting a call […]

This girl is 7 and was able to instantly understand homophobia and realize it is wrong. Such a testament to how a life of stereotypes and […]

Wow. Meant to just skim this article but read the whole 7 page thing (registration is required at NY Times, FYI). It’s a father writing about his son’s meth addiction. Wow. It’s just amazing. I’ve never had to go through anything like this with anyone I know but it must just tear you up inside, […]

Well, it’s Monday morning and I sat down ready to start coding! Only problem is, our development database’s hard drive failed yesterday and we have no development environment!! So, I’m catching up on my blogs, following up on recent comments on my blogs, etc.
I hope everyone has a good Monday. My daily Zen: Remember nothing […]

Jai came over and we playtested Kingdoms & Empires! I really appreciate the help seeing as how the game is fairly rough right now, but I think it will be a lot of fun after some tweaks (especially with 3 players). We capped the afternoon off with an episode of Battlestar Galactica. Good episode as […]

Not too much happening. Ready to head to bed! Game design on K&E is progressing well. I have a few weak spots to address that an analysis revealed and then I’ll be ready for initial playtesting. I’m impressed that the first game I put the effort into to create is coming out this interesting and […]

If you have any time today, go read Boing Boing.
I don’t want to just post a bunch of lame blogosphere poser entries that link to Boing Boing, so I thought I’d just do this one. I already posted about the Kosher Cross embossed Easter Eggs.
But, wait, there’s more:
*A man died in Texas due to […]

Ok, it took me a second to figure out why these are just SO wrong. All they are is “religious cross foil chocolate easter eggs”. And hey, they’re even Kosher.
Say it again with me. Kosher. Easter. Cross.

Kingdoms & Empires is somewhat ready for testing. An early prototype is available on my other blog: Kingdoms & Empires.
I’m going to polish it a little more, add some more variety and flesh out the remaining tokens, and print me up a copy (and figure out what to paste the cards to), and then start […]

Geek entry. Be warned.
Just had an overview of Java 2 (they’ll never get rid of that misnomer) Standard Edition 5.0 (formerly 1.5), code named ‘Tiger’ (aren’t geek code names cool?) presented by one of the Sun big boys. Hey, it pays to be a big purchaser of Sun hardware & software!
Some really interesting stuff […]
