A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

Oy! I’m ready to go home. Had this long drawn out discussion with another developer and our architect. The architect and I saw it one way, the developer saw it the other way. Basically he wants to write code in the old framework instead of the new, and it will later have to be converted. His argument is we don’t have all the mechanisms in place his new code will need if he uses the new framework.

It’s a valid point, except the amount of effort to properly design these new mechanisms is a few days, a week at most. It’s so annoying. We’re sitting here telling him, “you have permission to use extra time to develop the mechanism right, we’ll help, and you can do your code right”. But he insists on writing it the old way, then we’ll have to convert it later. Oh, I’m sorry, did I say we? I meant ME!!

Ugh!!

I’d be interested to know who these people are in the AA posts, as your blog is my only mechanism for keeping up with life up there.
