A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

Get yanked right away this morning into an urgent meeting in regards to my recent code changes, which overruns another meeting I was supposed to be at so I had to run and find someone to fill in for me. Then, I’m told I’m needed on another project due to past experience and it’s urgent, but it’s slightly less urgent so it goes on hold. Oh, and my project starts back up this week and I should have been working on it since Monday but it’s at the back of the line. Oh, and my other code I was doing for refactoring is half coded but is now also even more at the back of the line.

All this, and I’m tracking down an elusive bug where the testers claim my code re-added all these old rows that have been supposedly gone for months, when there’s no way my code could do it. (It would have to be intelligent code that could guess which records belonged to a user and relink the tables). I’ve done dozens of tests and can’t replicate the behaviour they claim they’ve seen when this batch of code first entered two environments.

AAGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow - all that by 11:25 am? Yuck. It’ll get better. And if it doesn’t, you can always drink more ;)

Not a bad suggestion :-D It got better. I’m out of the office for a week so everyone keeps trying to give me stuff to do today, and then when they find out I won’t have anything for them for a week, they look dejected and walk away to give it to someone else. woohoo!
