This guy sums it up far better than I can. Jon Stewart, if you’re not aware, is the host of a COMEDY show on Comedy Central. They poke fun of the news. The sad truth is Jon Stewart is by far the best journalist in all of mainstream media. He actually criticizes people, questions their assumptions, and calls out things the far left and right do which are too wrong. Far too often these days the media are a bunch of pussy-whipped dogs sitting up and begging in front of both the public and the administration, never taking any of the actions above.

Anyway, Jon Stewart had a bit called “Gaywatch” and showed a CNN (yes, the almighty of ‘good news’, CNN) anchor interviewing a right wing nut job who used discredited research to say GLBT parents are 11x more likely to abuse their children then straight parents. The gay lobby in Texas, LGRL, had someone respond saying what you’d expect “that must be made up, I’ve never heard anything like that, all studies I’ve heard of show children of both types of parents grow up ok, etc.”

The anchors just turn to each other and act like school girls. I shit you not, this is (virtually) the dialagoue:

“Wow, what a great debate!”

“OMG! Yeah. Like whatever and stuff. I have some REAL neato opinions on this and a super cool new purse. I’ll share with you during the commercial break”

GIMME A FUCKING BREAK! I almost peed my pants when Jon Stewart vehemently declared “You’re news anchors for fuck’s sake, why don’t you call them on their bullshit on the air????”
