A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

Friday was James graduation from CCCC, followed by his party at Dave & Busters, which was a blast! I forget how fun it is to play all the variety of games out there, win tickets and trade them in for stuff.

Saturday was our planned trip to the arcade game auction. That was fun, if crazy and tiring. You run around looking at tons of games, checking their condition, playtesting them, etc. Then, the bidding starts. I’ve never been to a real auction before. It all happens so fast. We actually won the first arcade game up for bid! I didn’t even realize for a moment I’d won. We brought home a Ms. Pac-man (which is in great shape). I’m not very good at it, so I’ll be practicing a bit for our sure to come Ms. Pac-man tournament. The game room is really coming along now. I’d love to get a little seating room in there now, bar stools, a small cushioned bench, etc. Some art on the wall, and *maybe* some type of bar if we can fit it in and we’ll be set!!

Today was yard work. Our pond pump has been making me pull my hair out lately trying to get it to quit shorting out. We’ve double checked the connection, put in a new outlet, well…turns out the pump itself had gone bad. So, with a new pump it is running great today. Also worked on extending some of my beds where the yard was getting too much shade for grass to grow. Our only big task left (for now) is to finish an in progress flowerbed in back where the grass wasn’t growing around the crepe myrtles. We found a sprinkler head leaking so we stopped everything on the bed and have been trying to reach the sprinkler company for a week to no avail. I’ll be glad when we get that done!

And now for a relaxing evening of dinner with friends. A good way to finish the weekend. ;-)
