A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

I don’t know if I’ll be blogging over the weekend, so I thought I’d go ahead and throw out there Happy 4th of July! Hope everyone has a great time with their family and friends celebrating our country and the freedoms we have.

Our country is faced with many problems but I have to have faith in the resiliency of democracy that the good ol’ U.S. of A. will spring back from being dominated by right wing religious fundamentalists. Sociologically/historically, cultures waver from liberal to conservative ends of an ever-increasingly educated, tolerant fulcrum. We’re on one swing of the pendulum, which can only mean it gets better from here.

Go home, throw something on the grill, and watch the fireworks with the people who YOU say are your family, and stand side by side with the people who are your neighors, your community. Think of freedom, tolerance, respect, and the bounty living in a land lush with such liberties has bestowed upon us.

Happy 4th!

(Oh, and go shoot some firecrackers off! But if you get caught I did NOT tell you to do it!) :-D
