A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

OMG! Thank goodness the Onion exists. I was almost in tears reading this, it’s so funny. With all the ignorant, burn the books bullshit going on about “intelligent design”, I really needed a good laugh.

I think if we teach intelligent design in schools alongside evolution, we should teach any and all belief systems as possible alternatives to rigorously tested science including this theory and any others I or anyone else come up with. ;-)

Funny you mentioned this. I was with a couple of friends on Tuesday and I mentioned the Kansas issue. Like you, I said I was all for intelligent design if EVERY creation story would be taught in the curriculum. One of my friends said we should include only the major faiths and I disagreed, saying EVERY faith’s system should be taught since the U.S. is not a theocracy. When he pointed out how many religions were practiced in the U.S., I just smiled.
