The devastation from Katrina in New Orleans and elsewhere continues to grow. With the levee broken in New Orleans water has engulfed entire buildings and claimed numerous lives. I read that a recent analysis of New Orleans before the hurricane occurred estimated 9 weeks to pump a flooded Crescent City dry, and only then could the analysis begin of structural damage, toxic chemical cleanup, etc. Tens of thousands of people may be without homes for months, perhaps longer.
