The ignorant unwashed masses can’t help but be zealously, blindly patriotic but simultaneously be dumb as shit, ignorant, and intolerant. An “international freedom museum” at the World Trade Center site was cancelled because 9/11 victim’s families were afraid it might eventually house “anti-American” pieces. The irony in that of course is the museum was supposed to showcase what we supposedly hold so dear in this country: exhibits from around the world of people expressing themselves, of their freedoms to do what they want. Things like voting, protesting, worshipping any religion. But I suppose it could also include images of the American flag burning, of people worshipping Allah instead of Jesus, and of two gay men kissing. And Lord knows, we don’t want any crap like that at a freedom museum in America!!
