Our kitty Jessie demands to be petted sometimes. She’s actually a baby from a feral momma cat that was being put down by a vet years ago, and Ian rescued her for me. She’s my little princess, but she is still generally standoff-ish with new people. She’s very comfortable around Ian and myself and a few others and can actually be needy from time to time. Lately even she’s become more used to people that she makes appearances when there are crowds in the house.
