Nothing like an Ikea room makeover to cheer you up, especially on a yucky rainy weekend. I’ll let Ian share the news on the loft area-cum-workout room, which turned out great. I got a bookcase out of the deal, which spurred me to finish redoing my office. My main goal was more desk space so I could work on the computer but also have a writing area for stories, GURPS adventures, etc.

I’ll post pictures soon, but I’m really happy with the results. The room looks great and I have plenty of space. Plus I have a nice suite of furniture that all goes well together. And the best part is redoing a room at Ikea is cheap! I still need a desk lamp (the only one I liked was out of stock!) but otherwise I’m pretty much there. Eventually I may get a new rug and/or futon cover to change the color scheme up a little.

I also swung by Redenta’s the organic nursery my brother runs in Colleyville. It’s a fantastic place with a lot of really neat plants you won’t find at Home Depot or Lowe’s. We came up with some great plans for plants that can survive Texas summers in my pots. Unfortunately it just poured buckets all weekend long so they’re still in their nursery pots, but I plant to plant them soon!
