We survived our annual camping trip! The Beaver’s Bend area up in southeast Oklahoma near Broken Bow Lake has become our destination of choice these last couple of years. It is a beautifully hilly, lush area with creeks and rivers running through a green landscape and excellent trails.

Chris, James, Ian and I go each year and always find some new people to bring along. This year we had a great group with Jonas, Travis, and Josh joining us as well. And the weather could not have been more perfect: just cool enough at night to enjoy our fire, and warm enough in the day to hike around in shorts and a t-shirt.

Perhaps we don’t rough it too much by staying in an air conditioned cabin, but to me it is the perfect mix of the outdoors and still being able to relax comfortably away from home.
