A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

Because my life is so exciting ;-)
Well, while Ian was off in Portland shopping for clothes (and visiting our friend Brian), I had a few of the guys over for games. We played Bang!, Citadels, and Pit. Saturday was yard work. The grill is on a new patio so the small patio we have that came with the house is now freed up. I’m desperately trying to get the area near the door to grow in with grass. I’ve actually roped off a small area as a test to see if a few weeks of no traffic helps.

The bonsai tree is now nearly a month old and hasn’t died yet! ;-) I’ve begun shaping some of the limbs. It’s very tricky to do: working with the wire around the small limb without breaking it. Most of the new greenery has much larger leaves than what was there when I got it. I’m not sure what the trick is to keep them small, maybe trimming back earlier. The smaller leaves give it a more authentic bonsai look as it keeps things in perspective, but I do like the shape it’s taking so far.
