Well, I met the group at the Dallas Writers Meetup Group last night at the Half Price Books on Northwest Highway. It was a great group with diverse writing styles. We do writing exercises, then read and critique each other’s works. Very positive, but good critical feedback which I liked. I’m looking forward to going to future meetings.

Reading one of my works out loud was a new experience. The work I chose I discovered to be long, drawn out and preachy. I have some other works I’ll read next time which I feel flow better. I’ll have to try that in the future as a technique to see what a section of my work feels/sounds like when read aloud.
