This weekend we took in a showing of Strangers with Candy, the movie based on the series that aired on Comedy Central a few years back. Amy Sedaris, sister of the hilarious writer David Sedaris, plays Jerri Blank, a recovering alcholic and prostitute who is going back to high school. It’s basically an incredibly funny, politically incorrect send up of the after school special genre.

Then, we went tubing in New Braunfels on the Comal River with friends. Got some sun, had fun in the water and just relaxed. Personal family issues came up midway through that I’m just not in the right space right now to go into, but everything turned out ok.  Enjoyed dinner at the Hula Hut, a nice restaurant in Austin out on Lake Travis (oops, just saw on their site, Lake Austin).
