A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

Or, one person’s old junk is another’s treasure! Ian’s had the idea for a while now to put some sort of architectural element in our bedroom: wrought iron, part of an old wooden door frame, a small stone facade, etc. He went and looked up a bunch of “architectural salvage” stores and we set out. Turns out, we only had to hit one:

Uncommon Market

This place was great! Tons of cool, old stuff. Basically, it looks like they collect things out of old homes and put it up for sale: mirrors, chandeliers, stained glass, knick knacks, etc.

We found a set of three matching beautiful wrought iron pieces from the early 30s that we hung above our bed. The reddish-orange rust actually blends nicely with the cherry wood furniture. Also, we found a large diamond shaped piece for the living room.
