I splurged and got some new stuff for the model train set. First, I sorely needed some people. To date I had a chain gang setup on the side of the track that I’d got as a gift. Definitely needed more! So I finally put out a set I’d had that I guess you’d call utility workers: trash men, men working in a manhole, etc. And I bought a new set of everyday townspeople to help bring the whole thing to life. I glued down my trees that had been notoriously falling over with every boisterous wag of Skylar’s tail. A little tractor for my farm along with some farm animals, and finally some wheat grass. I’ve put out all but the last.

I have one more model of a typical small town ‘downtown’ look to put out, then I want to go find some more specific ones, potentially a church, a house, and possibly a depot. Then I’d like to get a passenger train to switch out with the freight train I have now. That still leaves me with a couple of other more industrial models I’ve received as gifts. I’ll probably put those together and can change some of them out as I feel like.

At that point, it might be time to start a new set that has layers of foam to give it a tiered effect. Then I can do water effects, cliffsides, tunnels, etc.
