A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

Infrastructure is defined as:

Infrastructure
The physical and local components of a network. Typically, this includes wiring, wiring connections, attachment devices, network nodes and stations, interconnectivity devices (such as hubs, Router, gateways, and switches), operating environment software, and software applications.

At most companies that work with computer hardware and software, one team writes software (that’s me and my team). Another team manages the hardware this runs on. This second team, called the infrastructure team, also typically, as the definition above shows, manages the off-the-shelf software installed that supports custom software written by the first team.

Our infrastructure team however refuses to do so. Everytime installed software comes up as a topic they just shrug their shoulders and say “I don’t know”. You don’t know how FREAKIN’ tired of it I am! So, I’m going to my boss and complaining, and I intend on making it very clear how I feel. If they’re going to shirk this responsibility then we need to find someone who can fill this role. I think their title will be “Person who isn’t on the infrastructure team but actually does the infrastructure role”. No, that’s a bit wordy. I’ll work on it.

AAGGGHHHH!!!!
