A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

So I decided to copy Ian and get yet another new cell phone. Same model, but carriers in America lock down phones to be good for only one carrier. So stupid, but that’s a whole other post to go into sometime. So, I’m waiting for my Treo 700p from Sprint to arrive so I can get the SERO offer as well. I’ve got to port my number over, then cancel my service with Verizon and ship my phone back to Amazon. I only have to pay shipping to Amazon and for the partial month I used with Verizon.

The problem is I have to cancel with Verizon within the first 15 days, which is by October 28th, this Saturday (I have 30 days to send it back to Amazon so I’m not worried about that).  The new phone arrived Monday, but they sent the wrong one! They sent a Treo 700wx, a Windows mobile model, which I have no interest in. The scary thing was they said they didn’t even stock that model. So, they’re sending new ones that should arrive Thursday (Ian and I’s phones were both wrong, which also worries me). I’ll be cutting it a little close. If I don’t get the right phone this time around (I’m guessing there’s about a 50% chance it’s another 700wx), not sure what I’ll do. This phone was going to end up being more expensive than the Verizon phone, but the plan including data is SO much cheaper.

Why is it sometimes things just can’t be easy? ;-)
