A Zen gay atheistic Texan’s perspective

Well, I’ll toot my own horn a bit. AA.com is now in Spanish! Check it out:

AA.com/espanol

This was a very big, exciting project. The process of internationalization and localization of a software product (like a website) is no small task. It’s a very different way of looking at things. This was also a new experience for me. I was involved early on in the high level design and continued to contribute to the vision and architecture of the solution. But, I did none of the coding. It was the first time I got to play an “architect” role on an app and not be the developer. Different experience not being hands-on.

Here’s your geek fact for the day. Being as geeks are VERY lazy, they hated typing those words I typed up there that start with “i” and “l” and thus came up with i18n and l10n. What are the 18 and 10 for? That’s how many letters are between the first and last letters! I love geeks.
