Well the day is finally here, I’m turning 30. (Technically not til Wednesday but I might as well accept it’s inevitability!). My friends and family helped me face it though with a fantastic party Saturday night. The best part is though, that it was a surprise party. It’s the first one anyone’s ever thrown for me (I always wanted one!). Ian went all out. He decorated, he cooked, he coordinated the whole ruse. I am SO lucky!

He really pulled it off too. Everyone kept asking me if I was really surprised. I had absolutely no clue. There was a fake party the next weekend I knew about, and I thought we were doing dinner at home with friends after a movie. My poor friend Chris was so nervous driving me home after the movie, but I never even had a clue. Ian’s parents drove all the way up and his mom went crazy making tons of cool paper flowers for decorations. My friend Stephanie came in for the weekend from D.C. It was awesome.

I’m incredibly blessed and lucky to have such great friends and family, and especially to have a significant other who will go to such great lengths for me. I must have done something right somewhere along the way!
