Haven’t blogged on this subject in a while. We’ve now spoken to three different birthmothers. We’ve been “on the books” with the agency about 10 months. The name of the game at this point is definitely patience. And networking, though I’m not very good at that Our agency created profiles recently on all the social networks. They’ve noticed a trend over the last few years of more and more of their birthmother intakes coming from internet referrals. I decided to start creating profiles for us on the networks that are geared just towards our adoption effort, separate from personal profiles. Not that I use the personal ones that much really. I still don’t quite ‘get’ social networks. They’re basically what I did already on the web (post to my blog, read friends’ blogs, share pictures, email, IM, etc.) just now I’m constrained to people who are on a particular network and have to use the limited web-based tools that network provides. Then I have to go to the next network to talk to someone else. I guess I’m showing my age here
