There are many creatures and persons inhabiting Auri. Several races do and have existed in the past, forming a wide variety of nations and other organizations. Some of them are mentioned below:
The Keltori - A technological race, slightly above the standard in technology of other races (better metals, experimenting with explosive powders, not yet to gunpowder). They have a number of contraptions that rely upon gears and such. Magic is forbidden in this society, though many use it behind closed doors. Their cities are darker, dirtier, and more intimidating to visitors, who are not always met with welcome arms. The Keltori seem to be constantly preparing for war in the eyes of other races. There are rumors that there is a great enemy of unknown details on islands beyond the Keltori realm.
In general the Keltori follow a single King, although many dukes and barons hold as much or more power than the King in their realms. In some regions using the King’s name in vain is an offense, in others, using his name at all is an offense. The Keltori are renowned for being gadgeteers and good at weapons.
Humans for all practical purposes in their appearance and capabilities of their bodies.
Ichaktare (the Stone People in the Old Tongue) - large, slow moving stone creatures who live fairly solitary lives in distant mountains, in small families. Little is known of them. Some rumor they all follow a single king or tribal leader, others say they meet in council. When a lightning storm bellows thunder, it is oft referred to as K’ai U’Ichaktare, the meeting of the stone people, their footsteps echoing across they sky.
???? - The last race that was alive in the time of the ancients, some of their race where there when (if) the world was ripped into islands. Very secretive, few people if any could identify one or tell you much about them other than rumors. The few that do exist live in distant, ancient castles or ruins and are often used as boogeymen for children.
Guardians of the ^^^^ - They are known only by their function. This race has long been indentured to the above race of ancients. They are their hunters, their slaves, their lovers, their protectors, and more. This race is very vampire-like: long lives, they supposedly hunt at night and have a voracious bloodlust. They have tall, gaunt appearances that are hauntingly beautiful. Their favored weapon is a fast loading crossbow. It is rumored they can shape change to a flying creature or they have wings.
