Sorcerer’s Duel

A card game where two or more people face off as sorcerers. You draw cards which are spells and movement cards (possibly also apprentices, potions, etc.) Literally your position on the board dictates your spell’s success. So, if you shoot a fireball, you must have a straight shot to your enemy. He can put up a shield spell (i.e. wall of ice) but you can move to the side to fire at him.

So, the game is a card game based on the luck of the draw, but also a position game where arranging things on the table is important. You’d be able to move to the side and fire, but then be vulnerable. I think you’d be able to use a move card to avoid getting hit (a ‘dodge’). Spell interactions would make it more interesting.

This would be a single deck game (expansions available of course), not a ‘bring your own’ like Magic. That is interesting at first, but gets out of hand: everyone has to buy a lot and stay up to date and make all these bizarre custom decks or you’re out of the picture.
