As an add-on to the dark, near future world I described recently (and is increasingly becoming likely that it will be the setting for my next work), I’ve decided our heroine will fall in love with someone who is off the net. But in the end, sadly, he will have died. Not before she is pregnant with his child. She’s made this entire change in her life, only to have to live it without him. I want the reader angry and sad he’s not there with her.
Now I’ve just got to flesh out her story. She’s a strong, good person at heart who’s become numb to the inhumanity of the world.
