So the working title of the mech warrior story I thought up the other day will be Mechoid. This entry is a working entry on the characters of the story.
Main Character/Hero:
I’m not sure yet if I prefer to delay naming my characters until I can see them better, or go ahead and give them a working name early on. It may bias my vision of them and be hard to change later on, but I hate having to write and work with “Male main character”, etc. So this guy’s name is Marcus. He’s young, about 16-20, well built, attractive, and fairly outgoing. He’s a good person the reader should identify with. Charismatic, helps others. Has a good heart. He’s eager and enthusiastic. Tall, strong frame, light brown hair and green eyes. He’s finishing up school and very interested in becoming a mechoid fighter. Why? Being a hero, thinks the mechoids are just plain cool, and wants to get out and see the world. He thinks he’ll be helping people, protecting them.
Friend:
Reasonably early on we meet another male character. He makes friends with the hero quickly in training and as they are deployed. They’re very competitive and highly skilled. Like the hero he’s charming, strong, but enjoys the power of his situation more. He questions things even less than the hero.
