From my eyes
-
A feline
perspective
A yawn and a stretch
And my day begins a new
A purr, a whine, a scratch and a mewl
Why do you not come when I call?
I’m hungry and playful, lonely and sad
You’re locked away in your room
Sleeping without me to warm your side
And play with your hand when it twitches & slips by
your side
Aha! You’re awake
I play and I mewl,
I run and I roll.
Just what I needed – a rub and a bowl of food!
Now time for my nap
As my morning has worn me out
I run to my pillow to snuggle in
But to my distress I find it mussed
What is this?
The pillow is straightened,
My comfy fur fuzzes are gone
And it smells like spring meadow, not like a home
Once again to my work, I must fluff and I must muss
To get my pillow just right
Now I rub and I roll to get my fur in the just the good
spots
Thank goodness I only must do this once a week
Mmmm…time for a nap
Perhaps when I wake
You’ll be there before me
To play and to love, as an owner should be
